Combining Cosmetic Therapies: Botox plus Fillers

There is no one cosmetic treatment that will meet all of your needs. Sorry, but it’s true.

Botox or other neuro-modulators like Xeomin or Dysport will definitely relax some of your muscles that are creating wrinkles and deep lines, but adding filler to many of the deeper wrinkles as well can truly enhance your results.

When you add fillers like Juvederm and Restylane to your Botox procedure, all of sudden you will start to see major, yet
still, subtle improvements. Some people have waited so long to deal with their frown lines or “11’s” that the skin has permanent, visible lines even when not frowning. That’s the time to not only limit those muscles from moving but also lift the lines from underneath with some filler. Neuro-modulators used in conjunction with fillers are a perfect combination, possibly even lengthening the lifespan of the filler as the more movement an area has, the quicker the filler can absorb.

So with the Botox, we can deal with the frown, crow’s feet, maybe even soften the forehead wrinkles, not too much though, it’s nice to keep some natural movement or yes, you can appear to lose too much of your expression.

Now let’s look at combining filler and Botox around the mouth and chin. For very deep ‘smokers lines’ around the mouth, the neuro-modulator can be diluted so we can place about ½ of a unit in 4 spots across the upper lip relaxing those pucker muscles just enough and then filling the lines for further softening. We can go one step further and re-define the lip borders to spread the tip of those lines that lead right into the lip. This won’t give you huge duck lips, it will just return the definition that you used to have and stop your lipstick from creeping.

Even the chin can take 10 units of Botox to stop the puckering or “Golf Ball” look when speaking or chewing and adding filler on top can smooth out chin dimpling. Yes, we even lose volume in our chins over the years.

Juvederm and Restylane fillers come in different thicknesses and are made from Hyaluronic acid, a natural substance already present in your body, which absorbs safely as it breaks down.

So go for it- Try combining fillers and Botox for your best results ever!

Age is a state of mind. Aging is a treatable condition.
