Face Shaping with Injectable Fillers, Sculptra, Radiesse & Botox

Face Shaping in Vancouver

What is it and why do you want it?

As we age our faces tend to move from triangular to more square in shape.

Cheeks drop, jowls form and temples hollow.

A part of turning back a few years on your appearance, is to re-shape your face as naturally as possible so you still look like you…just younger.

You will be amazed what you can do without surgery.

We start by assessing where volume is needed under the skin, where muscles need to be more relaxed to narrow an area and where muscle movement has built up volume or created permanent lines.

We want to provide underlying structure to areas that have sagged without making you look “stuffed” and overdone. Sometimes a collagen stimulating product like Sculptra or Radiesse is used just under the apple of the cheek or in the temples for patients who have lost too much volume and are looking sunken.

When replacing volume in the actual cheek, we find the best method is by injecting small amounts of filler that start at the top of the cheekbone, further back than you might think and bring it around towards the front. Filling up the front ball of the cheeks may seem like a good idea but it will often just make your cheek heavier and risk creating a deeper nasolabial fold (the line the runs from your nose to the corner of your mouth).

Filling the cheeks in the right place can slightly lift those folds.

Jowls can be helped with an ‘Uplift’ treatment placing tiny amounts of fillers from the base of the jaw, running up to the temples along the hairline, to help pull up the skin (it really works!). We also can disguise the dent created between the chin and the jowl with filler, giving you a more defined jawline.

If you have always wanted a stronger jaw, that is also easily done with filler.

The Nefertiti lift  with Botox, Dysport or Xeomin can slim your face and give more definition to a jawline where muscles have built up and widen the face.

Clients often put a little filler in their chins to help with wrinkling and creating more of a heart-shaped face. Replacing structure at the corners of the mouth and in the marionette lines is a must.

Of course, building the nose bridge is popular as it can hide a bump or build up a weak or flattened bridge. Although this solution is temporary, many clients ‘test run’ the enhancement with fillers before eventually deciding on rhinoplasty.
