How to treat excess sweating?

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterized by excessive and unpredictable sweating, typically affecting the palms, underarms, feet, or face. Embarrassing and bothersome, this condition affects about 1 in 25 people. Those with hyperhidrosis often have overactive sweat glands that are easily triggered into production by anxiety and other heightened emotional states.

Although the exact cause of hyperhidrosis is unknown, research suggests a hereditary component. Palmar hyperhidrosis (sweaty palms) and axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) are the most common forms of this condition.

BENEFITS

Reduced sweat production

Botox® works by blocking the chemical signals that stimulate the sweat glands, thus reducing the amount of sweat produced in the treated area.

Long-lasting results

The effects of Botox® for sweating typically last between six and twelve months, which means that most people only need a few treatments per year.

Minimal side effects

Non-surgical

Botox® injections are a non-surgical treatment option for excessive sweating, which means that there is no need for incisions or anesthesia.

Versatile treatment

Botox® injections can be used to treat excessive sweating in various areas of the body, including the underarms, hands, and feet.

Botox® For Hyperhidrosis

Botox is a popular treatment option for those experiencing excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis. The treatment involves injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin into the affected areas, such as the underarms, palms, or feet, which temporarily blocks the chemical responsible for activating sweat glands.

Botox treatment for sweating is minimally invasive and typically takes less than an hour to perform. The procedure involves using a very fine needle to inject Botox into the affected areas, which may be preceded by the use of a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort.

Most patients experience a significant reduction in sweating within a few days of treatment, with maximum effects seen within two weeks. Botox treatment for sweating is not a permanent solution, and follow-up injections are typically required every six to twelve months to maintain results.

100% Personalized Treatment

Before the Treatment

Your experience begins with a consult with one of our expert staff. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that best suits your needs. We review your concerns, expectations, skincare regimen, price estimates, and your relevant medical history during your session. This information helps ensure you get the results you’re looking for with realistic expectations.

During the Treatment

The treatment area is numbed with ice before fine needles are injected into the relevant active muscles. You will feel a small prick, and it’s over! If there is bleeding, the treated area is pressed hard to avoid bruising.

After the Treatment

Avoid squeezing or massaging the treated areas for several hours, as this could subtly change the results. No excessive sun or heat until any swelling and redness have resolved. Avoid laying your head down for 4 hours and excessive exercise for 24 hours.

Treatable Areas

The most commonly treated areas are the underarms, palms of the hands, and soles of the feet. The specific injection sites and dosage of Botox® will depend on the severity of the hyperhidrosis and the individual’s response to the treatment. It is important to note that Botox® is a temporary solution for hyperhidrosis and will need to be repeated periodically to maintain the effects.

RESULTS

Studies have demonstrated that localized injections of botulinum toxin can effectively alleviate the symptoms of hyperhidrosis, with 81% of patients experiencing a reduction of more than 50% in severe underarm sweatin. In fact, half of the patients had relief for nearly 7 months.
