At Anti-Aging Medical and Laser Clinic, we are dedicated to providing our patients with the latest and most effective treatments for a range of skin conditions. One such condition that requires prompt and effective treatment is Actinic Keratoses (AKs). AKs are rough-textured, dry, scaly patches on the skin that can potentially lead to skin cancer. It is crucial to treat AKs early, as there is no way to predict which lesions may progress to skin cancer.

We are excited to offer our patients a unique and medically necessary treatment for AKs: the LEVULAN KERASTICK and BLU-U Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). This two-part treatment combines the use of a light-activated drug therapy with a specialized blue light to target and destroy AK cells.

How It Works

Application of LEVULAN KERASTICK Topical Solution: The treatment begins with the application of the LEVULAN KERASTICK Topical Solution to the affected areas. This solution is absorbed by the AK cells and is converted into a chemical that makes the cells extremely sensitive to light.
Exposure to BLU-U Blue Light Illuminator: After the solution has been absorbed, the treated areas are exposed to the BLU-U Blue Light Illuminator. This exposure triggers a reaction that destroys the AK cells, leaving the surrounding healthy tissue unharmed.
Benefits of LEVULAN KERASTICK and BLUe light treatment:

Targeted Treatment:
This therapy specifically targets AK cells, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy skin.
Non-Invasive: The treatment is non-invasive, with no need for incisions or injections.
Minimal Downtime: Patients can typically return to their normal activities shortly after the treatment.
