Hormone-related concerns are looked at alongside sleep, mood, metabolic and cardiovascular health, not on their own. Treatment is decided case by case and is never automatic, and hormones aren't prescribed just on request, for performance or appearance, or to reverse normal aging. Any hormones or supplements you already take should be disclosed, and they're reviewed for safety, not judged. If hormones are a main reason for your visit, our hormone assessment and therapy page covers this in more depth.
Longevity & Medical Wellness
Preventive Health Assessment
A physician-led preventive health program in Vancouver, created and led by Dr. Gidon Frame, focused on your health, your risks, and a clear long-term plan.
Preventive health assessment in Vancouver
Understanding Preventive Health Assessment.
Taking an active role in your health starts with understanding what matters to you. A preventive health assessment gives you time to ask questions, explore your concerns, and plan meaningful next steps, whether your focus is feeling better today or caring for your health in the years ahead.
Created and led by Dr. Gidon Frame, our Medical Director, the program includes a minimum of two consultations with him. He reviews your medical and family history, hormone-related concerns, lifestyle risk factors, and weight. Together, you make sense of the findings and build a medically informed plan around your needs and goals, with practical recommendations and support to help you move forward.
Concerns & Goals
Concern guides connected to this treatment.
Healthy-Aging Planning
A proactive, individualized focus on preserving function and reducing preventable health risks as you age.
Laboratory and Health-Risk Review
Clinical interpretation of laboratory results and health risks in the context of your symptoms, history and medications.
Cardiovascular Risk
The estimated likelihood of developing heart, blood-vessel or stroke-related disease based on several combined health factors.
Metabolic Health
How well the body regulates blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, body composition and related markers over time.
What would you like to understand about your health?
Your assessment is shaped around what matters most to you. Depending on your priorities, it may look at:
Family and inherited history. What your family history means for you, and whether further checks are genuinely worth doing.
Hormone health. Hormone-related concerns, including perimenopause, menopause and age-related change, considered alongside your symptoms and overall health.
Brain health. Memory, focus, mood, sleep and energy, looked at together with your hormonal, cardiovascular and metabolic health rather than on their own.
Weight and metabolic health. Your weight history, relevant conditions, and markers like blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar where they matter.
Lifestyle and everyday habits. Nutrition, activity, sleep, stress, alcohol and smoking, with practical changes that fit your life.
Healthy-aging priorities. Preserving function and quality of life, and reducing preventable risk as you get older.
Meet Dr. Gidon Frame
Dr. Gidon Frame is the clinic's Medical Director and created the preventive health program. He is an experienced physician whose focus is preventive medicine, hormone and menopause health, weight management and healthy-aging planning, and he teaches as a clinical assistant professor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
His approach is to explain things clearly, make recommendations suited to you, and help you decide what's right for your health, rather than apply the same plan to everyone.
Who the assessment suits
It suits adults who want time to understand their health, look at their family history and risk factors, and plan for the years ahead, and who already have, or plan to have, a family physician for day-to-day care.
Before booking, Dr. Frame reviews a short intake to confirm the assessment is a good fit. If another setting would serve you better, for example anything urgent or a complex ongoing condition that needs continuous care, we'll say so upfront rather than take a fee for something that won't help.
Consultations and fees
The assessment includes a minimum of two consultations with Dr. Frame, each about an hour. The gap between them leaves room for any tests, for results to come back, and for proper interpretation and planning.
Each consultation is $1,000, so the initial assessment is a minimum of $2,000. Any tests or investigations billed separately are explained before they're arranged, so there are no surprises.
Getting started
Getting started is a short, private process, so the assessment is only booked where it's likely to help.
- Tell us a little about you. A brief welcome form covering why you'd like an assessment and some introductory health details.
- Complete a confidential questionnaire. We follow up securely with a more detailed private questionnaire, including your full list of medications, hormones and supplements.
- Suitability review. Dr. Frame reviews your information to confirm the assessment is right for you. The outcome may be an invitation to book, a request for more detail, or a suggestion of a better-suited setting.
- Booking. Once confirmed, we arrange your consultations and send next steps, how to prepare, and our privacy and cancellation policies.
Everything you share is reviewed clinically and in confidence, never judged, including hormones or supplements you got outside a medical setting. We can only advise safely on what we know about.
Anti-Aging Medical & Laser Clinic
Looking for the right next step?
Anti-Aging Medical & Laser Clinic can help you understand this medical service, review the appropriate next steps, and build a plan around your health goals. Private medical consultations are available.
How your assessment works
First consultation. Dr. Frame reviews your health and your goals in detail, examines you where appropriate, and decides with you which investigations, if any, are worth doing.
Between visits. Any tests are arranged and results come back, so there's time to interpret them properly rather than in the room.
Second consultation. You go through what the findings mean and build your plan together, with clear next steps.
Your medically informed plan
Findings explained, not just numbers. Results are read alongside your symptoms, history, age and medications, and explained in terms you can use.
Written recommendations and priorities. A clear plan: what to change, what to keep an eye on, what to look into further, and what can safely be left alone.
Referrals where warranted. Specialist referrals and off-site tests are arranged where appropriate, as is a referral to nutrition or counselling support.
Individualized testing and treatment
Tests and treatments are chosen for you, based on your history, symptoms and risk. Nothing is ordered by default, and an extensive testing package isn't automatically better. Genetic and advanced testing is used only where it would genuinely change your care.
A few honest limits come with any assessment. A normal result is reassurance, not a guarantee. Risk describes how likely something is, not what will happen to you. And no promises are made of anti-aging, guaranteed weight loss, or the prevention of dementia. New or worsening symptoms always deserve attention when they happen.
Follow-up and ongoing support
Your plan is something to return to, not a one-off. Further consultations with Dr. Frame let you review results as they come in, see how things are going, and refine the plan over time.
Follow-up consultations are $1,000 each, arranged whenever you'd like them. For most people, about two visits a year is enough to stay on track.
Hormone health
Brain health
Memory, focus, mood, sleep and energy usually have several overlapping causes, so they're considered alongside your hormonal, cardiovascular, metabolic and sleep health rather than treated as one thing. Everyday measures can support brain health, though nothing can guarantee the prevention of cognitive decline.
Sudden confusion, weakness, facial droop, speech difficulty, a severe new headache, fainting or any sudden neurological change needs urgent medical care.
Working with your family physician
This assessment is built to sit alongside your regular care, not replace it. With your consent, a written report goes to your family physician so your ongoing care reflects the plan.
| Type of care | What it's for | What it isn't for |
|---|---|---|
| This preventive assessment | An unhurried look at current health, future risk, and a long-term plan | Anything urgent, or day-to-day primary care |
| Your family physician | Continuous primary care, ongoing conditions, prescriptions and referrals | Being replaced. The two work together |
| Urgent or emergency care | Acute illness or injury that needs attention today | Long-term risk assessment or planning |
If you don't currently have a family physician, this assessment doesn't fill that gap.
Your privacy
Your personal and medical information is collected for your assessment, suitability review, communication and care, and it's kept confidential using systems suited to sensitive health information. Submitting a form doesn't create a physician-patient relationship or guarantee acceptance, and it isn't the right channel for anything urgent.

FAQ
Questions about Preventive Health Assessment.
Your list of medications, hormones and supplements, any recent test results or reports, and the questions or priorities you'd most like to cover.
Not automatically, and not on request. Any hormone-related finding is confirmed first, and treatment is only considered where it's medically appropriate for you. Where it is, it comes with informed consent covering benefits, risks, alternatives, monitoring and cost.
No. Tests are chosen because they'd genuinely change your care. Broad panels ordered without a clear question tend to cause more confusion than clarity.
We can help with timing and logistics, though travel and accommodation are yours to arrange. Out-of-province and international patients may still need local care for testing, prescriptions or follow-up.
The consultations are privately billed. Some eligible tests may be covered by MSP while others are private; you're told which before anything is arranged.
