Longevity & Medical Wellness
Private, physician-supervised medical weight management in Vancouver: individualized assessment, lifestyle help, and medication when clinically appropriate, given with respect and without judgment.
Medical weight management in Vancouver
Weight is a health matter, not a character test. We treat it that way.
This is ongoing, physician-led medical care — not a procedure, and not a commercial diet program. You are assessed as a whole person: your health history, your medications, your bloodwork where it is relevant, your sleep, your energy, and what you actually want to change.
Some patients leave with a prescription. Many do not. Medication is one possible part of care, considered only where it is medically appropriate for you.
Concerns & Goals
Localized abdominal fat that may remain despite diet and exercise.
Changes in body shape driven by fat distribution, muscle loss, skin laxity, pregnancy, aging or weight fluctuation.
Loose or excess skin that remains after significant weight loss because the skin cannot fully contract.
How well the body regulates blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, body composition and related markers over time.
Difficulty reaching or maintaining weight and metabolic goals despite genuine effort.

Prescription medication is one of several clinically recognised approaches to weight and metabolic health, and it is not always the appropriate one — a plan with no prescription in it is a legitimate clinical outcome.
The approaches available within this service, selected according to clinical findings: medical assessment with laboratory testing where it is clinically indicated; individualised nutrition, movement, sleep and behavioural guidance built around your schedule, budget, culture and food preferences; ongoing monitoring of how you feel and how your health markers are tracking rather than weight alone; prescription medication where it is medically appropriate, alongside the rest of the plan rather than in place of it; and referral or shared care with a dietitian, a specialist or your family doctor.
More than one is frequently indicated together, and where an untreated medical or hormonal condition is contributing, that is assessed in its own right first. Plans are reviewed and adjusted as your health, circumstances and response change.
The selection is a clinical decision, not one you are expected to make. Your health history, weight history and what has already been tried are reviewed, your current medications and conditions, family history and risk factors are assessed alongside nutrition, activity, sleep and stress, and examination and testing are arranged where they will clarify the metabolic picture — before any medication is considered.

A physician-led assessment may be worthwhile if you are concerned about:
What this is not. It is not body contouring. Fat-reduction and muscle-toning treatments reshape one localized area; they do not change your weight, your bloodwork or your metabolic health. Those are different treatments answering a different question.
This care is designed for adults who want their weight looked at medically rather than commercially. It may suit you if you:
It is not the right route for everyone. If your relationship with food is distressing, or if disordered eating is part of the picture, that needs specialized care of a different kind — and standard weight-loss treatment can make it worse rather than better. We would rather say so and point you toward appropriate help.
The first appointment is private, unhurried and free of assumptions about what you have already tried.
What is discussed: your health history and current concerns; your weight history and what has and has not worked; current medications and conditions; family history and risk factors; nutrition, activity, sleep and stress; and what you want out of care.
What may be arranged: examination and, where clinically indicated, laboratory testing to clarify your metabolic picture.
What you leave with: a clear read on your health, an outline of the options that genuinely apply to you, and an honest answer on whether medication belongs in your plan.
What it costs to have that conversation. Nothing — the consultation is complimentary. A booking fee is taken to hold the appointment, which reserves the physician's time for you and helps keep appointments from going unfilled.
You are under no obligation to start a program afterwards.
Care runs privately over approximately 12 weeks, with regular contact rather than a single visit. An annual maintenance program is also available.
Getting started. Assessment, any indicated testing, and an individualized plan built with you rather than handed to you.
Through the program. Weekly support covering practical food and grocery strategies, realistic movement, sleep and habit work, and review of how you are tracking — measured by more than the scale.
If medication is part of your plan. Your physician sets out the specific medication, what to expect from it, how it will be monitored, and when it would be adjusted or stopped.
Handover. At completion, or earlier if clinically indicated, a report can go to your family doctor with your consent.

What this care can improve. Metabolic markers such as blood sugar, blood pressure and lipids; energy, sleep and day-to-day function; confidence in managing your own health; and, for many people, body weight.
What it cannot do. It cannot promise a particular number or a particular timeline. It cannot undo weight bias you have experienced elsewhere, though it will not add to it. And it does not reshape a specific area of the body or tighten skin — those are separate treatments.
When change tends to show. How you feel often shifts before the scale does. Changes in health markers appear on the schedule your testing follows, not on a weekly one.
Maintenance is part of the plan, not an afterthought. Weight regulation does not switch off at the end of a program, which is why ongoing support exists.
What influences the outcome: your starting health picture, other medical conditions, medications, sleep, stress, and how much of the plan fits your real life. Two people following similar plans can respond quite differently, and that difference is biological, not moral.
There is no procedure here and no recovery period. What matters between visits is the ordinary, unglamorous part: eating in a way you can sustain, moving in a way your body tolerates, and telling us honestly what is not working.
Progress is rarely linear. Plateaus, busy weeks, illness and life events are expected, and they are information rather than failure. Plans are adjusted around them.
If you are prescribed a medication, the physician who prescribed it will tell you what to expect from that specific medication and dose, and which symptoms should bring you back sooner. That conversation is specific to you, not a leaflet.
Contact the clinic if anything feels wrong, if a symptom worries you, or if the plan has stopped being realistic. Earlier is better than soldiering on.
If medication is recommended, your physician will explain its expected benefits, possible side effects, contraindications and alternatives before prescribing it. The discussion will be specific to the medication, dose, medical indication and your individual health history.
Monitoring may include symptoms, laboratory results, treatment response and changes in your overall health. Medication may be adjusted or stopped if it is ineffective, poorly tolerated, no longer appropriate, or if new medical information changes the balance of potential benefits and risks.
Not every patient will require or be eligible for prescription treatment.
A physician may recommend a different route, or ask to address something else first, if:
This is not a complete screening list. Your full medical history, medications, past treatments and current health are reviewed individually before any plan is made.
There is no single eating pattern that is right for every person. Lifestyle guidance reflects health, food preferences, cultural background, schedule, budget and goals, so that health-friendly choices are realistic and manageable. This may include practical grocery-shopping ideas, balanced meal and snack planning, recipe suggestions, sustainable eating routines, and encouragement around hydration and protein when appropriate, all in service of a healthier relationship with food. Where more specialized nutrition care is needed, working with a registered dietitian or other qualified nutrition professional may be advised.
Physical activity can aid cardiovascular fitness, strength, mobility, mood, confidence and long-term health, and its benefit is not measured only by changes in body weight. A plan may include gentle encouragement toward movement that suits current health, mobility and comfort: walking, gentle strength-building, mobility work, gradually increasing daily movement, and returning to enjoyable activities. Advice is individualized, and patients with medical concerns, pain or mobility limitations may need additional assessment before starting a new exercise program.
Medical weight management should not reinforce shame. Confidence, emotional wellbeing, stress, self-esteem and past experiences with weight stigma can influence a person's health journey. The approach helps set achievable, meaningful health goals, recognize progress beyond weight alone, build confidence in sustainable choices, and discuss barriers without judgment. When additional psychological or emotional-health care would help, appropriate resources or referral may be advised.
The program runs privately over approximately 12 weeks, with weekly care and lifestyle help. An annual maintenance program is also available. Program fees, medication costs, laboratory testing and any external dietitian services may be separate, depending on the individualized plan.
Medical weight management is not about blame, it is about grasping health, finding options and receiving appropriate care.
Weight is treated here as a complex, physiologically regulated condition rather than a test of willpower, and care starts from that premise rather than from a target number. Suitability for medication is judged individually, since it is added only where it earns its place alongside nutrition, activity and behavioural care, never as a stand-alone fix, and where it is not the right fit, that is said plainly rather than defaulted to because it is available.

Many people arriving here have been told to simply try harder — often by someone who never asked what they had already tried. Some have avoided medical care altogether because of how a previous conversation about their body went.
That does not happen here.
FAQ
No. Measurements are taken where they are clinically useful, and you can say if you would rather not see the number. The consultation is a medical assessment of your health, not a review of your discipline.
The consultation itself is complimentary, so you can find out where you stand without committing to anything. A booking fee is taken at the time of booking to hold the physician's time for you and to reduce missed appointments. Program fees, if you go on to start one, are separate and explained before you decide.
You still have a plan. Assessment, laboratory testing where indicated, nutrition and movement guidance, monitoring and referral all stand on their own. Being told medication is not the right fit is a clinical answer, not a dead end — and for some patients it is the safest answer available.
This is a private program, and program fees, medication costs, laboratory testing and any external dietitian services may be billed separately depending on your plan. Ask the clinic for current details before you commit, so there are no surprises.
Yes, and we would prefer you did. This care is designed to sit alongside your primary care, and with your consent a physician report can be sent to your family doctor so your records stay complete.
No. Those are contouring treatments for a specific localized area in people already near a stable weight. They do not change body weight, they do not affect blood sugar or blood pressure, and they are not a treatment for obesity. If weight and metabolic health are your concern, this is the service you want.
Skin does not always contract fully after substantial weight loss, and that is a separate concern assessed on its own terms. It is not treated as part of weight management, and it is not a reason to avoid improving your health — but it is worth raising early so expectations are realistic.
That is common and it is worth bringing up in detail. What was tried, for how long, what happened, and how it ended all inform the next plan. A previous approach failing is usually a sign that something was unaddressed, not that you were.
No. The consultation stands alone. You can take the assessment, the findings and the recommendations away and decide afterwards, or decide that private care is not what you need right now.
