Migraine Treatment

At Anti-Aging Medical & Laser clinic, we’re masters with the use of neuromodulators. With decades of expertise Dr. Gidon Frame, along with Dr. Sarina Govindasamy, Dr. Teri Fisher, and RN Dina Wang, are the knowledgeable and skilled injectors you can trust.

Neuromodulators work by blocking the release of chemicals that cause headache pain. This can help prevent migraines before they start. This treatment isn’t a cure but may help to temporarily decrease the number of headaches you get.

Neuromodulators can also treat other conditions including excess sweating and muscle spasms.

What to expect

What to expect

100% Personalized Treatment

Before the Treatment

Your experience begins with a consult with one of our expert staff. If you are considering therapeutic neuromodulators for migraines, you’ll be asked to keep a headache diary to determine if you meet the requirements for these injections.

These include:

  • You have a minimum number of migraine days each month and a diagnosis of chronic migraine.
  • Other treatments didn’t reduce the frequency or severity of your headaches.

If you are a suitable candidate for neuromodulators, the treatment will involve multiple injections into the muscles across the forehead, temples, and back of the head and neck.

During the Treatment

The treatment area is numbed with ice before fine needles are injected into the relevant active muscles. You will feel a small prick, and it’s over! If there is bleeding, pressure will be applied to the area to avoid bruising.

After the Treatment

Avoid squeezing or massaging the treated areas for several hours. It takes approximately 2 weeks for the treatment to take effect, and you will begin to feel improvements.

Recommended number of sessions:

Repeat injections should be administered approximately every 3 months or more, depending on your response. Typically, dosage starts at 100 units and then may increase if the initial treatment is not effective. Usually if the intensity or frequency of your headaches hasn’t been reduced after 2 or 3 treatments, repeat injections aren’t recommended.
